Goats

Our female goats (does) are alpine and alpine cross. We like them for their milk. We purchased a Boer Goat Billy this fall so we will have more meat type kids in the spring.

Goat Milk is available to purchase. This is pet quality only.

We also raise wethers from the goat dairy close to us. These are also sold for meat and for pets.

Our son, Jake, has shown his goats at the county fair and has consistently won Grand Champion Doe, Reserve Champion Jr. Doe, and Best Over All in the show for the past 5 years. He also has won Jr. Showmanship!

We are excited that the Boone County Conservation District (BCCD) has purchase 4 of our goats this year for use in erradicating noxious weeds in some of thier restoration projects. The BCCD is also conducting a study on which weeds the goats will eat, which breed of goat eats the most, and how the goats affect the habitat. R Family Farm is excited to be part of a this study.
